12x12

16x16

Custom sizes available too!

Have a specific size in mind for your painting? Great! The above sizes are the most popular, but I can create your custom artwork on any size canvas you like. Email me with your idea and I’ll give you an idea of what the investment in your new artwork would be.

Pet Keepsakes

For those wanting a smaller, more cost-effective way to commemorate their pet, adorn their Christmas tree, or hang from their cars rearview mirror, I can paint their portrait on a wood round too!

These detailed keepsakes are $50.

For something more simple, another option is to have your pet’s paw print hand painted on one side, with their name beautifully painted on the other.

This paw print option is $20.

Customizations.

The base prices above are for your pet portrait to be hand-painted on the specified canvas size with a solid colour background, finished with a matte or gloss varnish. If you would like to add customization, such as a different background or a resin coating, that will be an additional cost. Reference photos for your artwork can also affect pricing. Clear photos allow for more detail in your painting, whereas a blurry or grainy photo forces creative liberties in order to get your portrait looking the closest to your pet - this can take a lot of extra time, and in turn, add extra cost. For further clarification on exact prices for you commissioned piece, email me with your reference photos and idea. Let's get started on your fun artwork!

If you’re looking for something other than a pet portrait, let me know! I love doing any portraiture or pop art. Bring your project to me and we can discuss all the possibilities!

  • Requesting a Commission Piece.

Email artbychilds@gmail.com with answers to the following questions:

    • What is the subject of your piece? Are we painting a family member, a pet, a celebrity, etc.?

    • What style are you looking for? Would you like something realistic, pop art, or more abstract?

    • What size canvas would you like? Keep in mind that the price and time frame to complete the piece will be affected by the size of the canvas.

    • What is your budget? Please consider any shipping fees, import taxes, or customs fees when you’re sharing your budget.

    • Send a photo of the subject. If we are doing a portrait, it will be done using one photo as reference. More photos are always better to get a general idea of what they look like, but please indicate which photo will be the reference for the portrait. The reference photo must be clear and good quality. Please consider the quality of the photo, the lighting, and the pose/position of the subject.

    • Indicate when you are hoping to receive the piece by. If this is for a special occasion or gift, please inform me so I can schedule accordingly. If I deem the project to require more time than is allotted, I will offer you alternatives or decline the project. I will be accounting for any shipping time during this consideration as well to ensure it arrives on time. However, please note that I do not have control over shipping times. If needed, we can discuss express shipping options.

You will receive a confirmation email. When I have reviewed your request, you will receive an email either accepting or declining your commission piece. Keep in mind, if your piece is declined, it is not because I do not want to do it, I may just not have time for all of the requests that have come in. You’re always welcome to submit another request during future commission rounds. Once your request has been accepted, you will be given an expected start date of the piece, an appropriate wait time for your piece to be completed, along with an estimate of cost, and any applicable shipping information. The wait time for your piece will be for my working time, and will not include the time period expected for shipping to your destination.

Send your deposit to secure your place in line. When your request has been accepted, a 50% deposit must be sent within 7 days of the email. The deposit is non-refundable, unless I am unable to complete the art piece. This deposit holds your place in line. If the deposit isn’t placed within 7 days, the next person in line will be taking your spot and you will have to wait for the next round of commissions to open. The full balance is due upon completion, prior to shipping. Details on how to send a deposit or the full balance will be in the initial email sent to you.

You will be notified when the artwork has been started. As the art piece progresses, you may be sent progress photos (unless you request otherwise). These photos may be posted on social media as well, unless an agreement has been made during booking. During this time, you are welcome to request minor alterations. Once complete, the artist will send a watermarked final proof - at this stage only very minor alterations can be made.

  • Other Things to Consider.

    Copyright and reproduction.

    • The artist retains all copyright, media use, and reproduction rights. The artist reserves the right to share the art piece on social media and on any website. If the client has commissioned the piece as a surprise/gift and wishes to not have progress photos posted until after the piece has been received, they must indicate such during the request. If the client wishes to reproduce the artwork in any way, this must be arranged through the artist.

    Import tax and customs fees.

    • The artist is not responsible for any customs fees or import tax required to be paid by your country. Please keep in mind the art piece will be shipping from Canada. It is advised to check this prior to booking as this may affect your budget.
